Background: Urban health assessments enable cities to identify gaps and identify interventions to promote urban health equity. In order to identify the key determinants driving health inequities in Kampala City, we applied the World Health Organization’s Urban Health Equity Assessment and Response Tool (Urban HEART). Methods: We prioritized eight indicators across three urban HEART domains: health, physical environment and infrastructure and social and human development. Data for 2022 was abstracted from the District Health Information system2, disaggregated by division and compared to the national average and SDG target. Results: Urban HEART revealed inequities in health outcome indicators; diabetes prevalence was higher than SDG targets in 2/5 divisions, TB incidence and road traffic deaths were higher than SDG target in 4/5 divisions. We observed no inequities in the physical environment & infrastructure and social & human development domains. Conclusion: There was inequity in health and health outcome indicators in Kampala City.
