Abstract Title: Intrafamilial and Same-sex Sexual Abuse in Sagmu Nigeria: A Silent Noise Sexual violence remains a pervasive issue in Nigerian communities, impacting individuals regardless of gender or sexual orientation. This qualitative study investigates the enduring experiences of female survivors of sexual violence in Sagamu, Nigeria, focusing on incidents involving same-sex individuals and relatives. Through in-depth interviews with 10 participants aged 18 to 24, the study explores the challenges faced by survivors within familial and societal contexts, along with their coping mechanisms. Findings reveal the profound impact of societal stigma and familial disbelief on survivors' experiences, with coping strategies such as journaling and support groups playing a crucial role in their healing journey. The study underscores the urgent need for targeted interventions and support services to address survivors' needs and combat sexual harassment effectively.
