Aderonke O. Komolafe, Babcock University, Nigeria

The study explored the Information behaviour of women displaced by armed conflicts and complex emergencies living in IDP camp in order to understand the relationship it has on their experience of sexual and intimate partner violence as well as the role socio-culture factors play. Linear regression analysis was conducted to determine the relationship between Information behaviour and sexual and intimate partner violence as well as between socio-cultural factors and sexual intimate partner violence. The analysis reveals negative correlation between information behaviour and SIPV and a positive correlation between socio-cultural factors such as patriarchy and SIPV. The study reveals a very high level of information need but seeking and use of information were very low however the influence of socio-cultural factors is recorded as very high. The study suggests that there is a need for all interventions to reduce the incidence of SIPV to prioritize. Keywords: Complex emergencies, Armed conflicts, Patriarchy
