DAVIS OENGA, The Pallladium Group
This abstract explores the implementation and impact of focused community health interventions aimed at increasing the uptake of family planning and maternal health services in Narok County, Kenya. The Palladium Group through the NPI EXPAND project is implementing a 5-year project to increase awareness, demand and acceptance of MH and FP services by addressing socio-cultural barriers with interventions around community health and creating demand for FP/MH services at the community and facility levels. Key components of the interventions include community education, awareness campaigns, capacity building of local healthcare providers, and the provision of accessible and affordable services. The findings reveal significant improvements in both awareness and utilization of family planning and maternal health services following the implementation of these interventions.
